The official programme, in addition to the main events with the presence of Pope Francis, includes the Youth Festival - a series of cultural, religious and sporting events put on by WYD Lisbon 2023 pilgrims. An experience of joy, youth, universalness and faith, which will show that the Catholic Church is a living and young Church, capable of using contemporary language and art forms without compromising the message it intends to convey.
More than 100 spaces in the city
Stages, auditoriums, cinemas, theatres, museums, exhibition venues, churches - will host events ranging from music, cinema, exhibitions, theatre, dance, conferences and religious events, presented by groups of young pilgrims from more than 50 countries around the world. These youths presented their projects, which were selected by the Lisbon 2023 WYD Local Organising Committee. All the young artists will showcase their projects free of charge.
All events are free and open to everyone - pilgrims as well as residents.

Concerts, on the following stages:
Terreiro do Paço; Alameda Dom Afonso Henriques; Praça do Império; Castelo de São Jorge; Jardim da Estrela; Coreto da Graça.
Films and documentaries at Cinema São Jorge.
Conferences, at the Fundação Champalimaud, Fórum de Lisboa and Auditório dos Contabilistas Certificados, debating current affairs.
Páteo da Galé will host the "Fátima Experience" (organised by the Sanctuary of Fátima) and "Querendo, quero o infinito" exhibitions devoted to Fernando Pessoa; the musical "Dom Bosco" will be performed at the Auditório dos Oceanos.
The Lisbon Museum has curated the exhibition "Vita Prima. Saint Anthony in Portugal" since June 24th, and on August 2nd, Auditorium 2 of the Gulbenkian Foundation will host the concert "MOZART ON: Quando a reclusão inspira" (MOZART ON: When imprisonment inspires), presented by young inmates from the Leiria prison.
In partnership with the World Youth Festival, the Cinemateca will be promoting the cycle "O Cinema Segundo Francisco" (Cinema according to Pope Francis) from July 28th to 31st;
