Vatican Secretary of State visits WYD site
On a Saturday afternoon, May 13th, the Vatican Secretary of State visited the site where World Youth Day will be held.
Eighty days before the big event, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the Vatican Secretary of State, accompanied by the Mayor of Lisbon, Carlos Moedas, visited one of the sites where hundreds of thousands of pilgrims are expected for World Youth Day.
During his visit to the 38-hectare site, the Vatican Secretary of State was briefed on the progress of work to redevelop the Tagus Park, a project that is beginning to take shape and is increasingly close to completion.
“We are very advanced, the pedestrian overpass and the altar stage are almost finished", said the Mayor of Lisbon. For the Mayor, the work "will be for the future of the city and with a connection to the municipality of Loures".
